DTCP to take land pooling route to develop two sectors in Sohna

The department is sending a land pooling proposal to the Haryana Shahri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) chief administrator in Chandigarh for final approval. A detailed survey is likely after that.

GURUGRAM: For the first time, the department of town and country planning (DTCP) has prepared a proposal to develop two sectors of Sohna—35 and 36, measuring nearly 530 acres in total, and the sector-dividing roads by land pooling

The department is sending a land pooling proposal to the Haryana Shahri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) chief administrator in Chandigarh for final approval. A detailed survey is likely after that.

The proposal aims at creating a fair and transparent mechanism for the pooling of land from willing landowners. The aim is to procure land inclusively, with landowners willingly parting with their land, making them development partners, rather than taking the route of compulsory acquisition.

According to the proposal, landowners willing to participate in the land pooling process will convey their consent to the department. “After development, the landowner will be returned a portion of the developed land. In case of infrastructure work such as roads, owners will get developed land in the adjacent locality,” said an official.
