The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to construct a new 12-lane toll plaza at Pachgaon on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway.<\/span> The project, estimated to cost \u20b918 crore, is expected to be completed within the next three months.<\/p>

The new toll plaza will replace the existing Kherki Daula toll plaza and will be located in the revenue estate of Kukdola village, approximately 13 km from the current toll plaza and 1 km from the KMP expressway.<\/span> The land for the project, over 28 acres, is expected to be handed over to the NHAI within the next 10 days, after which construction will begin immediately.<\/p>

A key feature of the new toll plaza will be the implementation of a multi-lane free-flow system.<\/span> This system will use digital tags to automatically scan and collect tolls, eliminating the need for vehicles to stop.<\/span>The shifting of the Kherki Daula toll plaza will also make a 55km stretch of the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway toll-free.<\/span><\/p>

NHAI officials anticipate a rise in daily revenue from the current \u20b949 lakh at the Kherki Daula toll plaza to \u20b953 lakh at the new Pachgaon toll plaza.<\/span> This is despite an expected decrease in the number of vehicles paying toll from 44,000 to 40,000. The increase in revenue is attributed to a projected rise in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) segment.<\/p>

The plan to shift the Kherki Daula toll plaza was first announced in 2016.<\/span> After a lengthy legal battle and a change in the proposed location from Sehrawan to Pachgaon, the state government acquired the land in 2023. The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) took possession of the land in 2023 and has been working with the NHAI to move the project forward.<\/p>
